"Canal Normandy" by Bill Phillip

"Canal Normandy" by Bill Phillip

If only I could
Be more like the water
That on a shallow creek
Paints ripples upon the greens
And reverses the concave sky
To calmly avoid emptiness

If only I could
Whistle with the trees by this creek
Transforming the agonizing air
Into intermittent melodies that blend
The gloomy background with scenery
Of astonishing ghostliness

If only I could
Become this panorama
I could betray solitude
And spare a delirious mind
