OakPages is ready to rock & roll!

Hi folks!

I am finally done programming (for now anyway), and OakPages.com is ready for prime time! I enabled profiles, friends, groups, forums, walls, tweets, dashboards, bookmarks and photo albums.  It’s a start… nothing big.  I don’t even have a logo yet.  But the good thing is this:  I can finally enable readers to comment on my poems!!!

Come join OakPages.com and experience the fruits of my pizza night programming.  The site is meant to be a social network for family and friends, so please keep it kid-friendlyThe only rule is this: don’t post anything you wouldn’t want your mother or kids to read! Oh, and due to liability issues, you can only sign up if you are 13 or older.  Let me know of any bugs that you find, any suggestions, what you like, what you hate, and what not.  I can’t wait to get some feedback!

During the next couple of weeks, I will be transitioning my open source projects, blog, poetry database, resume and Open Space project to OakPages.com.  During that transition period, I will keep the contents on my older sites (mongefranco.com sites), but I please note that I will be removing them eventually so you should update your bookmarks.  And guess what?  OakPages.com will let you keep your bookmarks online so you can access them from anywhere, and even share them with friends.  Now, isn’t that a nice incentive to update your bookmarks?
