Yes, there is hope still

I saw you smiling today
I saw you being strong
Defeating your wicked fate
With a will of steel
And the command of a queen
Smiling with an angelical gleam
Ordering life to surrender to you
Even when crippled
In a red wheel chair

I saw you fighting still
Believing it’ll take far more
Than three tons of steel
Rolling at 55 on the concrete
Crushing your spine and your will
To keep you from dancing
And living, and singing
And praising a magnificent Lord
Who has kept you all these years

I felt your arms moving
I sensed your hope flowing
I believed in your will
As I touched your soft hands
And smelled your passion up close
Then you looked into my eyes
And you made me believe
That yes, you will walk again!
And yes, there is hope for us still!
