Debating Life

I have been thinking lately
I have been thinking about life
I've been trying to understand
All those sayings about good life:
"Live everyday of your life like it was your last"
"Si la vida te da un limón, hazlo limonada"
"After all, we only have this life"
They all seem to attach to a myth
That life is unique and it's our possession
But what if life is only one for all of us,
And it really belongs to a greater will?
Would that not imply that our good
Belongs to a greater good,
And our bad to a greater bad?
But what if life is really a donuts
And we eat it, be it sweet or weird-tasting,
Bite by bite, until it's gone and processed.
What if instead, it's a box of donuts,
That we can eat, take one more, and eat again.
Would there be a limit to how many dozens
Time would allow us to eat?
Would there be a time when we're so full
That we won't want anymore donuts?
Because then, we'll get sick of living
Due to life never having an ending.
But what if life is rather like a tiny cell
That multiplies the more we live it
And outgrows the more we enjoy it.
What if our cells can separate to form new ones,
And those ones would form more new cells,
Until the world is outgrown by living cells?
Or maybe such cells exist in a vague place
Where neither time nor space are a limit.
What if those cells are our souls?
Then life would be our soul.
So if life is our soul, but the soul
Is thought of as the mind,
Then aren't mind and life tied together?
If so, when we die, when life ends,
Does the mind cease to exist,
As the cells that hold it in place vanish?
Maybe, I wonder, they don't vanish;
Maybe they sleep.
So maybe life holds the mind awake
Even after death itself has come to it
In which case that place
Where our lives reside and come from
Is a greater good for all of us.
Maybe life is really not what we think it is.
Maybe life is just something to be lived.
Maybe life is not a thing, nor a being, nor a place;
Perhaps life is something/someone/somewhere else.
