The idea
Medication Tracker helps a family keep track of everyone's prescriptions, so nobody runs out. It is the app that Privatium was built for: a folder of Lua, SQL, and HTML templates that a Privatium node runs on hardware you control. Records live as plain text in a folder on your disk, with no account, no cloud, and no database server.
What it does
It shows which refills are due and when to order them. It aims to refill while a small backup supply is still on hand, but never before insurance will pay. It keeps each person's medication list, ready to print for a doctor's visit, and records fills by hand or copied from an insurance plan's, pharmacy's, or doctor's website. It also tracks insurance costs and prior authorizations, and warns when a prescription has no refills left. It comes with a catalog of about 2,850 common medicine products in the United States and looks up any other medication by name in the public drug references RxTerms, openFDA, and RxNorm.
A note on data
Privatium stores every record as plain text by design. Anyone who can read the files on the computer can read what the app stores, so the computer and its backups need the same protection as any file with health information in it.
