Volcano

He shakes Sister Mountain
And makes all tremble with a thunder sound.
He's furious; he's powerful.
He is the one who shall bring fire
And reign in terror, con la ley de la Muerte.
He is the one who shall bring rocks
And sand, and death upon us.
Therefore,
Tiemble la Sierra; tiemble la Tierra
Tiemblen las ollas, la fogata, y el barro.
Retumben los lagos y tormentas.
Tiemblen las personas que pizan el llano.
Tiemblen, que todos tiemblen ante el fire
That is coming down apurado del volcán ahumado.
Escape is a hopeless word before him,
Porque su fuerza se engrandece desde abajo,
For underneath the Earth is were his soul lives, en llamas.
Who can stop him?
Nadie, por mas grande que sea, can stop him.
Ya viene. Ya empieza. It's gonna erupt.
Si pudiese detenerlo, I would do it, en serio;
Pero por ahora, all I can do is temerlo
And admire its power; su estrategia; su ira.
From many miles away yo lo escucho.
Rompe mi tranquilidad. Retumba lúgubremente,
And then explodes in truly memorable espectáculos.
Parece una bomba. It's like the end of the World
From Apocalyptic tales, or prehistoric times.
Bajan ahora el fuego y la lava, ardientes como el Sol.
There's no Moon anymore; las nubes la escondieron,
Las nubes de ashes and of sulfuric pain to the nose.
¡Quién lo detiene! Nobody can stop him!
Que corran todos los que tengan pies.
Que huyan todos los que tengan como.
Let all those with a car drive at one eighty-eight.
Let those with wings fly away mientras puedan.
Esconderse no servirá, pues el lodo y la lava
Habrán de destruir everything that gets on their way.
Corran! Get away! It is time for the end
Of all things to come, and for us all
To run as far as we can possibly imagine.
No queda tiempo. We must go now.
No queda ya nada para nosotros in this Earth.
Good bye, Sister Mountain. Te habré de extrañar.
Hasta luego, Uncle Grass, quien quedará cubierto
Del peor dry matter que puede existir.
Hasta luego. If I come back,
Tendré miedo.
If I stay away,
Permaneceré encantado en un bosque de hadas lejano
Where the thought of what was my home
And my life will remain forever forgotten,
Overseen by el desastre vecino al bosque now here.
