When I opened that e-mail, it was like a dream came true. I could not believe what I was reading. In fact, I quickly checked the e-mail headers to make sure it wasn't a spoofed e-mail as part of a scam or a joke. After everything checked, I continued reading it.... Just when I thought I had lost all hope of going to a world-famous school, there it was: an e-mail from the Mathematics and Engineering department at Queen's University. I had been accepted to their graduate program!
Suddenly, all the pictures of Queen's University that I had seen on the Internet starting coming to my mind...
The computing cluster...
The satellite arrays....
And many others....
All of these could soon become my home for the next two years. Everything high-tech that I had always dreamed of would soon be within my grasp. Research and the best education in the world awaited.
